Dear Members, players, and patrons.
Firstly I'd like to say a big congratulations on our successful match against Stanford Le Hope last Saturday. I'd like to express my admiration to Sid and his team as-well as all the players that have stepped forward this season, and for all of their efforts and commitments. I would also like to welcome our new signings into our rugby family, and I look forward to seeing them integrate and move forward with us on our path for the remainder of the season.
As we move forward as a club this season with our rebuild I would like to announce the departure of the Jordan family from the front of house formally. Once again I thank them on behalf of myself and the committee, for their commitment, efforts and service that they have given Chingford RFC. Also a big thanks is due for working in alignment with us in the bar hand over. With this starts our next phase within the club.
Over the past 6 weeks, many meetings and calls we are in a position to move in to a new era of club management. I would like to thank all of those that expressed interest in the bar. Moving forward from today we will be operating a new in house form of bar/club management that will take us to the end of the season. During this time we will be able to learn and recognize the financial opportunities around the bar as a business. With this move we will aim to be as proactive as possible with aiming to meet financial targets as we continue drive forward in rugby activity and private hire. The advantage of this is all the money remaining within the club.
In preparation for this a new Club Control till system has been put in place to help run this project. Again some of the advantages of this will help keep accurate stock and finance information for our accounts, as well as the introduction of social membership cards. With this our paid members will be able to pre load cards to spend at the bar or around the club as well as offer beverage discount to members. As this comes to effect we will also see the reintroduction of the 'Hundred Club' and club lunches to name a few.
Finally I would like to welcome Georgie, Helena and their team into the club, under our instruction they will help to drive the front of house for the remainder of the season. I wish them all the luck and success, and expect the respectful level of respect and support they deserve on this new club journey.
