Dear members,
I hope this letter finds you well.
We look forward to greeting you on our return for the upcoming 2024/2025 season.
Personally, we would like to say thank you to all the members who gave up their time
and energy helping on the club maintenance weekend in early August, it was much
needed and also highly appreciated. The works taken place have made a huge
difference, so once again a big thank you.
We would also like to thank all of those who donated to the roof contributions. We can
confirm that these works have now been completed along with some other issues that
needed attention.
Since the integration of our new committee prior to last season, one of our priority aims
is to improve the playing facilities as well as the clubhouse. We have been working hard
behind the scenes with the local council and other authorities to try and push the club
into its new direction of modern rugby. To assist with this there is now a ban on dogs for
the whole grounds at Chingford RFC, including the club house. This has been in place
since the back end of the season and is being enforced by the London Borough of
Waltham Forest. We ask that you please respect these rules in that have been put in
place by the council and moving forward will help us move in the right direction on our
new path. This decision has been fully supported by the committee at Chingford RFC.
These rules will help us keep a dog mess free area and help us to start injecting the right
funds into the pitches to help with their improvements and upkeep. Something that we
have not been able to control until now. With this decision also comes to the wider
discussion about the safety with sports and dogs being present.
This is a necessary step as we look to continually improve the facilities and as the
season progresses over the next few months, we will see visual signs of improvements
to start closing the grounds off to the wider public.
I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause the responsible dog owners amongst
you.
I thank you for your understanding in this matter.
As always Kind Regards
Mick Skinner Mark Rabey
